Abstract
Between 1993 and 1994 over 160 forest sites were sampled to obtain ind ices of pine weevil (Hylobius abietis L.) densities. Overall 48 variab les were tested for their ability to explain variation in weevil numbe rs between compartments. The models generated from the sample data ide ntified 14 variables as significant in influencing weevil densities. I n this research note the variables are identified, and their relations hip to forest management discussed.
