Abstract
CD studies were performed on the enantiomeric recognition of chiral ar alkyl ammonium salts 1-3 by chiral pyridino-18-crown-6 ligands 4 and 6 . Heterochiral complexing was found to result in larger spectral effec ts in both the L-1(b) and L-1(a) band regions of the chiral crown ethe rs. Based on the results reported herein, CD spectroscopy can be an ef ficient tool for discriminating between enantiomeric chiral aralkyl am monium salts and determining the stoichiometry and relative stability of their complexes with chiral pyridino-18-crown-6 ligands.
